My first Public Specking ( Console Wars )

Hello, grade 4, have you ever wondered why there’s so much going on with video games, they’re just games. Well, let me tell you about the console wars, I hope you find it as interesting as I do. I’m going to tell you about the most sold console, the history of it and how Xbox lost.

What console do you like? Well the PS2 is the most sold console, Sony says that it has sold over 158 million units, that’s 60% of all console sales between Xbox, Playstation and Nintendo! But why? The PS2 was so successful because it came out in the year 2 000 which gave it 24 years to be bought. Some other reasons are: because it had good support for DVDs and it was a console for the whole family. Even though some consoles today are for the whole family, all these reasons together made it the most sold console ever, But the console I have is the Nintendo switch. This is because it’s easy to use and because I like Mario Games. But while the PS2 is the most sold console it wasn’t always the most sold console.

What do you think was the most sold console? Well the history of the console wars is pretty interesting. It started when Nintendo saved video games! Gaming companies were making low-quality low-budget games but Nintendo made the NES which they branded as a toy for the family and with the reslees of Mario the NES made people finally buy video games. Then Sega made Sonic which was pretty successful and the console wars became Mario vs Sonic. After that Nintendo made the N64 which was a 3D console that was supposed to be game changing ( he he ) but they were too late since the PS1 came out before the N64 and was 3D too. More consoles came out and it became a 4-way battle between Segas dream cast, Nintedos GameCube, Sonys PS2 and Microsofts Xbox. There’s a lot more that would be too much to say but is still pretty interesting like what happened with the Wii, Wii U, Wii mini, Wii family and more!

The Xbox has lost the console war. It has only sold 56 million consoles that’s only 5.1% of sales between Xbox, Playstation and Nintendo. In a court case, Microsoft said Xbox had lost the console wars and has consistently ranked third (of three) behind PlayStation and Nintendo in sales” ( Microsoft owns Xbox). The Xbox 360 is the most sold Xbox console with 85 million sales, but the most sold Nintendo console is the Wii which has sold around 100 million units and the most sold PlayStation is the PS2 which has sold 158 million units. This means that Xbox has lost the console wars. Do you think Xbox should have lost. I think that they should have lost, their consoles are pretty bad, but their games are pretty good.

All this stuff is very interesting, but there are going to be new consoles coming out. What will happen when the next Xbox, Nintendo Switch 2 and PS6 come out? Will the Nintendo Switch become the most sold console? What do you think will happen In the futcher of the console wars? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Rock Cycle Of Obsidian🪨

Obsidian.

Hello in science we researched and made a build in Minecraft about a rock and my group chose obsidian.

Research.

Build ( Minecraft ).

Refection.

WWW: The research when well and Minecraft had all the rocks we needed.

EBI: I was able to join the Minecraft world.

Cookie excavation

In science we excavated cookies the cooky was pretend earth and the chocolate chips were the rocks and wen we took out the rocks ( chocolate chips ) the earth ( cooky ) broke! My cooky had 36 chocolate chips ( rocks ).

Masque Funéraire Du Roi Tut

Bonjour, c’est un projet que nous avons fait en français où nous avons fait le masque du Roi Tut.

C’est une photo de mon masque.                   C’est le masque du roi Tut.

Middle ages

hello we have bin learning about the middle ages in science. We also did a project where we remade a ( card-bord ) castle.

About The Middle Ages

The Middle Ages

The Middle Ages was in europe from 400AD – 1400AD. It started wen the Roman Empire was destroyed. Many people think that every thing was wors in the Middle Ages  so it can be called The Dark Ages ( every thing wasn’t wors ).

Feudal system

The feudal system is a form of class system. At the top of the class system is the king, then the nobles, then the vassals and finally the peasants are at the bottom. The king gives land to the nobles who give soldiers to the king, the vassals are the soldiers who give protection to the peasants and fight for nobles and the peasants work for the vassals.

Pulleys And Gears

Pulley

Pulleys are used pull string and something else well move in the opposite direction that you move the string. There are two tipes of Pulleys. Fixed Pulleys are attached to a structure mechanical advantage ( mechanical advantage is how much easier a simple machine makes something ) and move and gives able Pulleys are attached to a load  ( load is what you’re pulling ) and give a mechanical of 2x.

Gears

Gears allow you to tern an object in a direction you otherwise wouldn’t be able to by having one gear tern another gear.  There are 4 tipes of gears Spur gears can be used to tern something and it will move something else in another place, Bevel gears alow you to move a gear and it will tern another gear at am angle, a rack and pinion gear can change a turning motion into straight motion using a rack and pinion, the worm gears slow things down by using a gear and a spirle with teeth ( teeth are the bumps on a gear ) and a pole.

Castles

A castle is a structure which has a community in it. Castles have many parts a moat is a dich to makes it harder to get in during a war, a barbican is a tower used to protected the gate, the curtain wall and towers is an outer wall witch is the perimeter of the castle, the fortified gatehouse is the castle entrance but there are traps to trap intruders, the keep is the best, biggest and strongest tower and is the made area of the castle and he inner wall is a wall in inbetween he inner part of he castle and the curtain wall so intruders have to go through two walls.

Draw-Bridges

Draw-Bridges are the main entrenses of castles and alow people in the castle to deside whether or not they want people to come in and out. they do this by pulling the draw-bridge up and down. If the draw-bridge is up people can’t cross the mote if it’s down then they can. They do this byusing a pully and some castles also use gears.

Hypothesis

My hypothesis is: I will make a pully system for the drawbridge I will have a  pully were one side is attached  to the top of the drawbridge witch will be the load and you will pull down on something witch will pull the drawbridge up. I will make a bevel gear to move the flag up and down you will move a gear side wase and it will move the flag up and down.

Procedure

This is how I made my castle so far.

  1. Get a card-board box,
  2. cut that card-board box in to the shape of a castle,
  3. cut card-board into different rectangles,
  4. hot glue the rectangles into the keep and turrets.

That is what I have done so far.

sound

Sound

Hi we’ve been learning about sound in science.

What is sound?

Sound is vibrations when something vibrates it makes sound and then it vibrates the air which gets the sound to our ears.

What is echo?

Echo is when the sound bonus of a wall gets into your ear again.

Experiment

In are experiment we knocked on a bunch of surfaces like the wall a desk and the carpet the carpet made the sound quiet the wall no echo and the desk made a loud and echoey sound. this is a video of the project

this is a video about how the ear works

this is a video about sound

Fun Facts!

  1. Some walls are sound proof which means you can’t hear sound from the other side. They are normally used in things like fireworks.
  2. The volume of sound is measured in decibels this is used for things like devise volume.

Properties Of Sound

  1. Sound is a wave
  2. Sound is vibrations
  3. Sound moves at different speeds through different things.

Light

Hello, this is what are grade 4 science unit has been for 1 week (:

Natural VS Artificial Light

 Natural  light                                    Artificial light

Natural light is light that is not man             Artificial light is light is man-made. Examples of artificial light are:

made. Examples of natural light are:                 light bulbs, fireworks, glow sticks and

the sun, glow worms and fire-flies.                ( some people disagree with this )  candles.

Emitting light vs. reflecting light

Emitting light                                             Reflecting light

Things that emit light create their own light.          Things that reflect light use light from things

Examples of things that emit light are the sun,          that emits light and bouns it back in to your eyes.

TVs and candles.                                                             Egsapls of things that reflect light are desks, chairs,

Things that emit light are luminous carpets and posters.

Things that reflect light are non-luminous

Fun Fact!

Are eyes let in more light wen it’s dark and block of light wen it’s bright.

Light Travelling

This is the first experiment In the experiment we shined a flashlight at the end of a bunch of paper cards. my hypothesis was that the cards at the end would be more lit than the ones at the start because the light would be mostly blocked by the cards and my hypothesis was correct because that is what happened.

Here’s a photo (click this link)

What’s a good reflector?

In this experiment we had three items ( a smooth mirror, a crumpled piece of tin-foil, white paper and a lack of paper ) we shined a flash light on them and saw how the light hit the wall the mirror was the best. An interesting thing we found was that the light originally hit the white paper.
